Prayer: A Force! June, 2013

June 30, 2013

BeforeGod

I admit it.  I admit it.  I started a prayer life because I needed a friend.  I was ten years old.  I was very lonely although I lived in a house full of people.  In my search, I found God.  Yet still…I never thought that I would end up being a praying person.   I just sort of stumbled into it after a very unusual set of circumstances.

My next step was to begin to pray for myself and my family.  God immediately began to smile on my family in a big way.  He was making room for me to branch out into new territories!   I began to pray for others, but I want to say this:  every Prayer Intercessor must understand; being able to say a correct or eloquent prayer for someone else is not enough.  In fact, it could be quite easy to get off track.  It would be very easy to get dull.  In order to have your prayers become a force…one must stay hooked up to God,  For you see,,,He is the force behind our prayers!   Our staying charged up in our faith…is instrumental!   It is the key.  Take it and unlock the door!

Matthew 16: 19

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Prayer is not monologue, but dialogue. Gods voice in response to mine is its most essential part. ~ Andrew Murray
