Don’t Compromise! by Elaine Davenport Wednesday, October 6, 2009

October 6, 2009

Driving down the street yesterday, I saw a crowd gathering.  It was a literal traffic jam.  As I got closer, you could see people literally running to get in a line.  I knew somebody was giving away something, but I wondered what it could be to generate this much excitement and this kind of a crowd.

I found out later, they were giving money away.    But, the worse was the temptation on people’s parts to lie just to get this money.  Don’t get me wrong, most of the people qualified in the general sense.   Even still, some people who weren’t eligible could not resist the temptation even if it meant they might have to tell a small lie or two.

I don’t know how many Christians were in that line.  In fact, if I were to go and announce that Christians who had to lie even in terms of their address should not be in the line…I could likely have made some people very angry with me.

So, it seems that when money is involved people will tell a little lie or two.  We cannot compromise folks, if it’s real easy to do; better think twice about it.  Remember this:

1 Peter 5: 8

8) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour

Don’t you wonder why we’re warned?  Don’t compromise your integrity!
