“The Devil Lives On Stupid Boulevard!” by Elaine Davenport (Monday, April 14, 2008)

April 13, 2008

Years ago, in New York City my husband as a younger man couldn’t walk down a certain street because apparently a gang took it over and when a person walked into their “territory” they would chase them with a passion. He knew if he was caught they would beat him or worse. There were many “near misses” but they never caught him.

I was awakened one morning when I was thinking about Satan’s attacks on believers and I was reminded of this. We can’t see Satan so we “theoretically” don’t know when we walk down his street…or do we?

At a recent prayer meeting a friend of mine said the following and it got me to thinking:

“Satan lives on STUPID BOULEVARD! He lives at the corner of STUPID & STUPID.”

We all laughed as she went on and on. She’s a long time prayer warrior who was in the midst of giving us some powerful testimonies! I do mean powerful! In story after story she told of Victory over Satan.

THIS MUCH IS CERTAIN: YOU DON”T HAVE TO RUN FROM THE DEVIL. THE BIBLE SAYS RESIST THE DEVIL AND HE WILL FLEE. IT DOESN’T SAY TRY TO OUT RUN HIM. I’M NOT ADVISING YOU TO CHANGE YOUR APPROACH REGARDING A SIMILAR SITUATION AS DESCRIBED ABOVE; I’M ADVISING

AN ALTERNATE ROUTE,,,ONE THAT WILL TAKE YOU OUT OF HARMS WAY ANOTHER WAY OF LOOKING AT THINGS…TRY GOD! (LOOK AT THE SAFETY TIPS BELOW)

The bible tells us to “watch therefore and pray.” There’s a reason.

Here are some safety tips:

1. Get before God

2. Get in the Word

3. Watch & Pray

4. Plead The Blood

6. Binding and Loosing

7. Daily Confessions

8. Never Fear

9. Trust in God

10. Recognize Warfare

11. Put on your full armour and when you get strong…go on the attack!(spiritually)

12. Build yourself up in your most holy faith! Stay before God. Stay in the Word!

Examine each challenge, each trial, each conflict, each troubled circumstance that appears in your life and “figure out” what you could do different to have avoided it. There’s a lesson in there to be learned. Are you totally the blame? Of course not! But I assure you there are lessons and they don’t have to be hard. The devil will use any crack, so be on guard.

P.S. I just want to say that my husband finally got sick of it and moved away to the MIdwest where we met, married and lived happily ever after with Joy!…“When the enemy comes in like a flood the Spirit of The Lord lifts up a standard against him.” Isaiah 59: 19 Don’t forget!
