Don’t Be Blind! by Gene McGuire, Guest Writer (Tuesday, September 25, 2007)

September 24, 2007

“But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded . . . .”(2 Cor. 4:3,4)

COMMENT: Isn’t it just great that methods of communication are just proliferating? We can do all of these things while we are on the go: continually listen to music, see videos, search the Net, check our e-mail and constantly talk with friends. I am sure there are many other functions that this technologically challenged person is not aware of. When we get home, on cable, we can choose from 250 channels and watch 14 different NFL football games every Sunday. I believe that all of this available “activity” is a strategy of the god of this age. With all of these contraptions constantly going, the devil is able to keep people’s minds so busy that they don’t have time to think about how empty, purposeless and without hope their lives really are. If their perceptions were unencumbered, they would clearly see their desperation and have a better change of seeking the only answer to mankind’s dilemma, Jesus Christ. However, we Christians must also be aware of satan’s chicanery. He wants to keep us focused on the things of the world and not spiritual endeavors.

SCRIPTURE STUDY:John 10:10, Ephesians 6:11 and 1 Peter 5:8

WISE SAYING: NEVER GIVE THE DEVIL A RIDE – HE WILL ALWAYS WANT TO DRIVE.
