Blind in the mind! By Elaine Davenport (Wednesday, September 12, 2007)

THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT!

That’s a lie!

One of the famous expressions of our times was: “The devil made me do it!” It was supposed to be a joke to say that we can’t resist the devil and he can coerce us into doing things. That’s not biblical. We can resist the devil. The Bible tells us so. If the Word of God says it; then it’s so. If the Word of God doesn’t say it, it isn’t.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4: 7

Ephesians 4: 27 and do not give the devil an opportunity.

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

1 Peter 5:8 Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. (NASB ©1995)

There is clear evidence that the devil cannot manipulate you unless you are blind.

Even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing: Whose minds the god of this age has blinded: 2 Corinthians 4: 4
This says that the devil blinds your mind. The battleground is in the mind. That’s why when you try to tell people the truth about redemption, salvation and restoration they say: “I’ll let you know, I have to think about it.”

This passage says if our gospel is veiled or covered it is to those that are perishing, the unbeliever and that it is the unbeliever whose mind is blinded. What a horrible spot to be in, but you don’t have to stay there. You can make a coice to choose Jesus and live. It’s your choice.
