2008 Presidential Campaign and Christians Who Are Also African Americans by Elaine Davenport (Thursday, January 3, 2008)
Race or Christ? Christians that are African American May Have To Choose In The Next Election!
During my research a while back I ran across an article about Pamela G. Wilson a young African American author and formal journalist about her book that is drawing attention: Finding Soul Brothers: Dismantling Black Christian Racialism.
Before you dismiss it; let me break it down for you. She is examining whether Black Christians will vote along racial lines; as has been a long tradition or vote their moral compass based on the bible. This could come into play if Barack Obama were to win the Democratic nomination and was facing a viable Republican candidate.
This not only can be a hot topic amongst Christians that are also African Americans, but it has been in times past.
One of the main reasons that this could be a “deal” breaker for either party is the economy, the economy, the economy. Now, as Christians we shouldn’t be focused on the Economy but instead we should be trusting God; however, many Christians are not that spiritually mature.
Christians are really picky about party affiliation. I found that out the hard way not too long ago. I’m going to link the article because it makes for excellent reading HERE
* By the by: I could hide behind a journalistic robe, but I won’t. Nothing comes before God for me, just in case no one knows it. Nothing means zero!
The whole issue is Spiritual Warfare; it’s a distraction. If you don’t know this: you’ve got studying to do. I say it with love.
I would actually love to hear your “e-pinion” on this. Your thoughts?
