Memorial Day 2012! May, 2012

May 25, 2012

Please srop whatever you are doing and say a Prayer for those who serve in and with our Armed Forces!

Psalm 91

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a]
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 “Because he[b] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”

FIVE YEARS OF PRAYER FORCES! May , 2012

May 20, 2012

There was a string feeling in our hearts that we needed to write about the forces of Prayer.  The demand was greater than we thought.  There is a hurting world out there and that need must be met.  We want to answer ALL of your comments and prayers,  provide more information to you, equip you “for the work of the ministry”, encourage you worship and praise your way out of trouble.  We are experiencing a growth shortage.  It’s a glitch that we shall overcome!  Thank you for your patience!  In March we reached a milestone of Blogging Five Years On The Internet!   We were so busy working, that the date got past us!

Cafe Sozo began five years ago.  There was no budget.  There was only one plan.  That plan was to spread the Gospel.  The web designer who quit on us…said we’d be “lucky” to get 30,000 hits in 3 years.  Our site reached one million and began to decline.  What we’ve found is that we need to invest more in our sites in order to grab market share, draw steady traffic, minister, give feedback and to stay current.  We have seen people come and go and we have never quit.

Now, we find ourselves at an impasse…fighting stagnancy or making a choice to embrace growth!   WE HAVE DECIDED TO EMBRACE GROWTH TO FULFILL OUR VISION.

We need your support!

Please know that there must be a spiritual Christian presence on the Internet.  Certainly the Love of God, the mercy, the Wisdom, the grace and the peace is present. However, the dark side of things, the evil side of things, the deceptive, and confusing is also present as well as distractions.  So, though there aren’t many studies to give one statistics on the numbers of Faith Bloggers who have quit, changed their course or been distracted or disrupted through no fault of their own; I have seen it!  There are no statistics to tell you how many abandoned blogs there are on the Internet…thousands.

So we have persevered and now

It’s been over 6 years, since we opened up this website!   A lot has happened and a lot has changed.  We took the words of Jesus quite seriously…

____________________________________________________________________________________

1And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.  Matthew 28

________________________________________________________________________________

Since we had no resources, we took to the Internet.  There is a long story that I have about a well meaning web designer who bowed out at the last minute.  Then, the Holy Spirit literally led me to a Blog and of course, the rest is proof of what God can do.  Not any of us.

Our original plan was to put up a website so that we could spread the Gospel and to raise funds to aid Christian writers (whom we have seen greatly struggle to fund their own books.)  The truth be told I would love to see MORE successful writers begin to fund the less fortunate.  On this journey, we discovered ministers, evangelists, ministries, prophets, teachers, intercessors;  with many struggling to fulfill their hearts desire to go into all of the world to preach, teach and baptize in the Nam of Jesus.

We still believe in that mission, but we have discovered on this journey a greater mission.  That mission is in meeting the needs of the readers who visit this site.  That is a fact.  People write for prayers, but we haven’t the staffing to answer them all.  The sites are not technically updated.  For ewexample we have not been able to upload mp3′s on all of our sites because it is not free.  In fact, the appearance of the site we would like to change, but the cost is TIMES EIGHT because we have 8 sites and we are working on doing that.  We would like to put the sites under an easier domain name and roll all eight sites into one; but right now we are working this out…slowly.

We ask for your support prayerfully, financially and by coming by to give us feedback.  We reached a pinnacle of over two million readership; which is tapering off because we have not offered the technological tweaks that fules activity at the sites.

So, in the grand  plan…we see ourselves moving towards increasing our readership and meeting all of our objectives.  We plan to add a PAY PAL Donation button and to begin a fundraising campaign for site maintenance and expansion.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Something Important For Moms! by E. Davenport May 13, 2012

May 13, 2012

Mothers do so many unselfish things that the list is infinite.  It takes others to remember because for most of us; over time…we forget because we do it naturally.

However, I’d like to add this to the list of essential things to do…PSALM 91.   PLEASE COVER YOUR CHILDREN AND YOUR FAMILY WITH THIS PASSAGE!

Psalm 91 (King James Version)

Psalm 91

King James Version (KJV)

91 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

THE BOOK OF LIFE! April 30, 2012

A small petite young ladfy who goes to my church gave a powerful testimony!   She was driving down the service drive of one of our local freeways when a man drove past her going 100 miles per hour.  He soon lost control of his car and hit every car out there but hers.  It was a scene of death.

There were dead people there too.  She got out of her car and invoked the Spirit of LIfe in Christ Jesus over the law of sin and death.  Some of the people were covered up at the time.  Even the Emergency Medical Team had pronounced them dead!    Within minutes there were signs of life from EVERY SINGLE ONE!   The Word is Alive!   That’s my story and I am sticking to it!!!

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. (For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4:12-1

2012…More Prayer Is Needed! by E. Davenport January 1, 2011

January 1, 2012

I was in the wilderness for ten years.    Very few people will admit that.    I would not want to go through that again.   Part of it was my fault and part of it was not.  But, during that time, I had a very serious illness in which God spared my life.  During that time as a part of my recovery some wonderful things happened to me.  By the time it was all over, I not only was ready for God to use me; but I was consumed with fire.

In the midst of it all, I developed  a heart for prayer.  Over the years, I have found that prayer works, it changes things, it brings results, increases faith, is habit forming, brings peace and will absolutely bring you in the presence of God!

So…though many prophecies talk about the good plans that God has for the individuals in the body of Christ…we need to pray so that we may KNOW where to go, what to do and When.  God knows the why and over time, if you will listen…I promise that you will come to a proper understanding!

Matthew 6 (New International Version)

Matthew 6

Giving to the Needy

1“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Prayer

5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

9 “This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,[a]
but deliver us from the evil one.[b]

14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.  MATTHEW 6

Christmas Day Warfare! by E. Davenport December 25, 2011

December 24, 2011

Can we talk?   Tomorrow, I’ll make a journey to vindicate myself.  It  is Christmas Day; what better day to go!   I have a friend that is going through.    Too often, we forget about people.  Certainly I’ve done my share in that arena and have had to repent one time too many.  You see, if we can lend a word of encouragement, help people build their faith in an area…wage warfare with someone; why wouldn’t we if we know how.  We trust God and we cannot shrink from our responsibilities!   So, I’ll be there when the bell rings and the devil…better stay outta my way!   I know that!!

I KNOW WHAT GOD SAID!!!!

(Hebrews 4:12-13 NKJV)

  • Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:21 NKJV)
  • …the battle is the LORD’s… (1 Samuel 17:47 KJV)
  • “…the enemy… is the devil…” (Matthew 13:37-39 KJV)
  • “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10 NKJV)
  • “He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.” (Matthew 12:30 NKJV)
  • “…what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.” (Luke 14:31-33 NKJV)
  • This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, having faith and a good conscience… (1 Timothy 1:18-19 NKJV)
  • You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. (2 Timothy 2:1-4 NKJV)
  • Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:21 NKJV)

  • “…the enemy… is the devil…” (Matthew 13:37-39 KJV)
  • “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10 NKJV)

How Bad Do You Want It? by Elaine Davenport December 9, 2011

Sacrifice and Prayer:  Why they are essential elements that we all must pursue and perfect.

SACRIFICE:  JESUS PAID THE PRICE:  HE PAID THE ULTIMATE PRICE FOR ALL OF US…

1 John 4:10
NIV | AMP | KJV | All      Rank: 906

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. (NIV)

Romans 12:1
NIV | AMP | KJV | All      Rank: 17

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is true worship. (NIV)

Hebrews 13:15
NIV | AMP | KJV | All      Rank: 1291

Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise – the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. (NIV)

If I searched the world; I could not fine one person who doesn’t want something, need something, hoping for a breakthrough…but I want to scream:  “How bad do you want it?”

Now, if I am talking to an unbeliever that’s a whole new story; but if I’m talking to a believer…the answer is at hand.

I sometimes have to remind myself that the Bible is not only a  book of victory, revelation and a training manual…it’s also full of promises…

Matthew 7: 7 says:  Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:  (Author Jesus Christ)

Prayer is a form of asking, seeking and finding.  And I’ll be honest; sometimes when I need a really big answer…I sacrifice.

I do not do it to get God’s attention!   I already have it.  I do it so that I can be sensitive to The Holy Spirit…so that I can HEAR what God has to say and often…often…I’m delighted to say that He says it over and over…so strongly that nothing else matters!!!
